Weekly Update
Good afternoon everyone
Thanks to everyone who jumped into our first events on custom servers last week. We expected some teething problems and loopholes, thankfully we’ve now identified these and will work to avoid them in the future.
We had a great turnout across the weekend, especially on the PVP side. It was very useful to stress test how these servers work and forward any issues to MFG for future improvements.

GZW Events Anniversary
This weekend marks the 1 year anniversary since this all started. To celebrate, we’ll be playing a brand new mode ‘Heist’ and mustering an army of creators to dive in alongside you to play. Not only that, we’ll also be running Tier 1 prizes for our PVP modes this weekend!
I also wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who’s ever attended an event, helped out or supported us in any way. The community have been outstanding in their response to these events over the past 12 months and I’m truly grateful for their acceptance and participation.
I’d also like to thank the GMs (past and present), who help take some of the weight and strain off my shoulders. Not only do they provide extra manpower and the ability to reach other timezones, they’ve become valued members of the community and personal friends. A special mention also goes to Virtual Yoda for all of his assistance and wisdom (as much as he’ll hate to be mentioned).
Finally, a massive thank you goes to MFG themselves. Without their support, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Everyone from the CMs to the back-end devs have been instrumental in our success and I couldn’t be more grateful. Their generosity and enthusiasm has been refreshing to see in this industry and I hope I can continue to work closely with them for many years to come.
With that said.. here’s to the next 12 monhs!
Living Events
You may have noticed we’ve started to inject some fan made lore into our events. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and some inspiration from Fawxic finally gave me the push I needed. Before I go any further, I want to clarify that any lore shown in events is entirely fan made, although we do have MFG’s blessing.
We’ll be calling these ‘Living Events’, the idea being we can tie events together as you play throughout 0.3. We want to give players a sense of making a difference in Lamang and pushing a story along, we’ll be building in choices and consequences as we go.
For now, these will be applied to the main PVP event on Saturdays (9pm UK time) but may expand based on demand and resources available. I’d also like to shout out Kenzeon who’s been helping bring these to life with his videos and audio clips, adding an extra edge that I never could.
As an example, each faction managed to defend their objectives for the allotted time in Horde last week. We can now carry this forward into future events and incorporate the results of what players managed to achieve. Maybe you need to assault the opposing faction and take their samples? Maybe you need to rescue a scientist with critical information on the incident and so on.
We hope you like this addition and would love your feedback as we continue to push the our storylines along.

Exterminate – Phase 1 (PVE)
After several long months in Lamang, the factions are getting ready for the next rotation. With new operators, gear and missions about to land in country for the next security tour of the island – the existing teams want to leave their mark on the shady militants that still remain! Lets all put aside our differences and meet up for an operation to clear the entire island of its largest concentration of hostiles as a large unstoppable force!

Heist (PVP)
We’ve received reports of multiple dead drop locations used by bad actors across Lamang. You’ve been hired to coordinate with Alt Air to intercept these crates and help get the contents off the island. We’ll compile data on their rough locations, it’s up to you to beat your rivals and bring the goods to our contact in the field.

Gun Run After Hours (PVP)
Factions have just received a fresh batch of weapons to replace their worn out stock. In order to make sure these weapons are ready for deployment, players are instructed to assault a POI in order to give them some real-world testing. However, other PMCs have also received fresh deliveries so they’ll be doing the same. Last PMC standing can report back on the weapon’s effectiveness. Players must only use the weapons permitted by the brief until they are instructed to change.
