Weekly Update (24/09/25)

Weekly Update

Good afternoon everyone

We’re back from our two week break, we’ve been discussing a few things and will be making some changes in various areas to improve the experience for our players. We’ll go through these changes below, as well as explain what our plans are for this week.

Changes to GZW Events

As we’ve said, we wanted to use the break to evaluate what we offer, how we work and what players want from us. We’ll be making some immediate changes, as well as some that will be implemented over time. Please see below.

Removal of the Bounty system

Effective immediately, we’ll be removing the Bounty system from the official Discord. Upon reflection, it was a rarely used feature and, when it eventually was used, it was to grief other players. This may make a return in the future under new rules, not for a while though.

We’re working with MFG on something different to implement so stay tuned.

leaderboard for event winners

We understand that things may get repetitive and the player counts drop in the middle of big updates. With that in mind, we wanted to give players something extra to aim for over the course of a ‘season’, so to speak.

Starting in October, we’ll be introducing a leaderboard for all event winners. Anyone who wins an event will be listed here with their number of wins for everyone to see. So if you complete the objective and are entered into the prize pool for that event, you will score a point on the leaderboard.

To clarify, we will still randomly pull names from the prize pool on a weekly basis for each event. We will then award those at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the ‘season’, before the next major update. In this case, right before 0.4.

Prizes would be geared towards helping winners out in the early stages of the following wipe, as it makes no sense to give out big prizes then wipe characters.

clip competition changes

To balance things out and lower the time GMs spend reviewing clips, we’ll be limiting the size of all entries to 30 seconds from now on. Up until now we’ve had anything from 10 second clips to 6 minute compilations win and we want to bring some consistency to this section.

Changes to prize tiers

We’re actively reviewing our prize tiers to make better use of them and offer more attractive packages to players. We’re currently working with MFG to refine these and will announce the changes shortly.

This week’s events

Please see this week’s events below. Again, Tyy and Swat will be conducting Wednesday night PVP if you want to jump into custom servers to tear each other up. Also, Farmer and DG will be hosting Training Day for anyone who wants to explore Lamang and practice with no gear fear (information will be posted in the events news channel for both events).

Cleanup (PVE)

Multiple factions on the island need knocking down a peg, intelligence suggests the best way to do this is to hit the heads of each cell simultaneously. You are instructed to locate and eliminate all LAF and militia leaders on the island, whoever racks up the most kills gets rewarded.

Kill Week (PVP)

This is about thinning the herd. The other factions have been recruiting heavily since they landed on Lamang and we need to knock them down a peg. You are instructed to deploy to the AO and eliminate as many enemy PMCs as you can. However, we need these kills confirmed so we can assess the impact. Ensure you follow the brief to track every kill you make, the team with the most kills wins.
