Weekly Update
Good afternoon everyone
We hope you all enjoyed the first weekend of events back in 0.3. We had people helping one another in Combined Assault to get tasks done and clear areas whilst our GMs gave out over $800K in cash and gear during Altair’s Airdrops. So thanks to everyone who took part!
Now for what you’ve all been waiting for, our first set of events on custom servers. We’ll be running both our PVE and PVP events on customs this weekend, so take a look below at how they work.
Custom servers
We wanted to explain a little about how custom servers work, their set-up and how to join.
Setup
A GM has to be present in-game to boot up a server and every time we create one the join code changes. For this reason, we cannot give you the join code too early as we’d have to sit in the server to stop it closing down. Therefore, we’ll be giving the join code just before the event starts, we’re aiming to boot them up about 30 minutes prior to launch to give everyone a chance to filter in and sort their kits.
When ready, the code will be updated on Discord for you to see.
Joining a server
You can join a custom server through your settings on the main menu, as below:
When we give out the server code, enter it into this dialog box and select ‘join server’. You will then load into the server like a normal game. Once in, please spend some time sorting your gear and wait for us to post the brief as usual when the event goes live.
For fairness, we will operate a first come-first served system, we cannot hold slots open for you or reserve a place. However, if the first server fills up we have the ability to boot up to three in total, so we should be able to handle any overflow that occurs. This means that we could potentially host events with 378 players across multiple custom servers.
Other information
When you join a custom server, your progress is separate from the live branch of the game. This means there is no gear fear and we can operate within a controlled environment, catering each event to create a unique experience.
We have the ability to kick bad actors and initiate free cam to spectate and manage the event as it develops. We can also give one other player a free cam if they want to record some cinematics or cast the event. This is obviously given out under trust and will be removed if abused.
If you run out of money or gear, you can leave the server and rejoin, this will give you a fresh loadout as if you had joined for the first time. This is at your own discretion though as we can’t guarantee you’ll get back in.
It’s also important to note that you keep your faction when you join, so you can’t be CSI in the live branch and LRI in custom servers.
If you win an event on custom servers and receive a prize, your prize will be delivered to the main branch of the game to use in the live build.
Mid-week events
We hinted at this in a recent post but can confirm it now. Due to player demand and feedback, we’ll be introducing PVP event on Wednesday nights. These will be in both EU and US timezones (so 2 events on the day).
These events won’t be as structured as our weekend ones and will happen on custom servers. The idea is to have a more laid back style where people can jump in and enjoy some PVP combat without worrying about their gear.
We’ll be posting some briefs in the events news channel, so please keep an eye out if you want to jump in. We aim to hold these around 8pm UK and 8pm EST times.

Break the Bank – Phase 1 (PVE)
Now that the three factions have been deadlocked for months, they’re seeking to gain a financial advantage over their rivals. With the discovery of high-tier loot on the island, contractors are instructed to go out and gather as much as possible. Those who can gain the most loot and sell it for the highest price will be rewarded for adding to the faction’s coffers.

Horde
Investigations into Ground Zero have produced some disturbing findings. Our researchers need to know more, so it’s up to you to escort them and ensure their safety whilst they complete their tests. Be advised, other factions have also sent teams into the area recently, however they all lost communication within hours of landing. Our scientists believe there is something in Ground Zero that is tainting the all who enter.. pray it won’t taint you.

King of the Hill (After Hours)
A neutral location is designated as the hill, all factions are instructed to capture it. There may be AI in the area, loot dropped at the location or multiple LZs surrounding it. There will be 2 hills during the event, each lasting 1 hour, this allows us to declare multiple winners as well as give people different zones/approaches to try.

Altair on the air
As mentioned last week, Altair was lucky enough to be invited onto the High Proof Lounge podcast. We’ve just recorded the episode last night so and look forward to you all getting to hear it soon.
